iOS Connection Security

To ensure the integrity of the corporate firewall and to provide an additional layer of security for data flowing between the mobile device and the MobiControl Deployment Server(s) and Deployment Server(s) over public networks, SSL Communication Mode is available to provide encrypted communication. SSL provides the additional benefit of standards-based authentication and encryption security.

To configure the iOS devices to connect to a network enable the Connection Security Policy and follow the steps for the connection type desired.

Configure WiFi

Item	Description
Wireless Network Identifier	Enter the SSID if the Wireless network the device connects to
Hidden Network	Specify if the SSID being configured is hidden or not
Wireless Network Security Type	Select the Network Security type used by the Wireless Access Point
Wireless Network Password	Enter the Password required in order to connect to the Wireless Network

Configure APN

MobiControl can setup an APN connection for the device to connect to the Internet.

Item	Description
Access Point Name	Enter the SSID if the Wireless network the device connects to
APN Connection Username	Select the Network Security type used by the Wireless Access Point
APN Connection Password	Enter the Password required in order to connect to the Wireless Network
Server Address	Enter the Server Address and port for the APN connection

Configure VPN

Some corporations require the use of a VPN to connect to their network.

Item	Description
Connection Name	Provide a friendly name for the connection on the device
Domain Name	Enter the Domain Name the connection is going to use to authenticate
Connection Type	Select the Connection Type the VPN is going to use to connect
User Authentication Account	Enter the User name for the VPN connection
User Authentication Type	Select the Authentication Type for the VPN Connection
Server Name or IP	Enter the VPN Server Host Name, DNS, or IP
Proxy	If required, enter the Proxy connection information. Enter the Proxy Server Address, Port, Username and Password
Shared Secret	Specify a secret that will be provided to your users in order to connect to the VPN Connection

Configure Certificates

Some companies will require additional Certificates for APNS or SSL. Using this will push additional certificates to iOS devices.

To add a certificate to MobiControl click the button to add a certificate. After you have selected the certificate, enter the password associated with it, and click OK.
